What's with all the digging?

You may have noticed some digging activity in the neighborhood. MSD did a study and discovered that many of the sewer lateral lines leading from the homes were compromised, whether it was from old age or from tree roots. MSD approved funding to for several contracted companies to repair or replace these lateral lines via several options at no cost to the homeowner. The scheduled start date for the project was over a year ago. Due to delays, the project did not start until recently.
